Director of Youth Ministry
Objective of the Position:
- To provide spiritual, administrative and visionary leadership to ministry for 5th grade through High School.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the alignment and integration of the youth ministry with the overall mission and vision of Grand Lake, including Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Nights
- Have a intentional plan for discipleship
- Ensure that youth have regular opportunities for service and mission both locally and beyond
- Plan and implement strategies to continue reaching students in our community who do not know Christ or who are currently not connected with Grand Lake or another church
- Identify, recruit and develop leaders and teachers for all aspect of the ministry, including student leaders
- Partner with parents and across generations to connect the youth to the church and the church to the youth
- Ensure all administrative needs are covered; finances/budget, background checks, fundraising efforts, communications, etc. in collaboration with other staff members
- Oversee promotion, advertising and congregational awareness in collaboration with other staff members

- Flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changing ministry circumstances
- Extremely reliable and trustworthy
- Motivated self-starter
- Experience and/or formal training in youth ministry and biblical studies is desired
The Director of Youth Ministry will be hired and terminated by the Pastor of Discipleship & Outreach and the SPRC, amenable to the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee for evaluation, and supervised by the Pastor of Discipleship & Outreach.
Time Requirement:
This is a part-time salaried position that requires 20 hours per week.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
