"The Road to Redemption" - Traditional Worship

May 25, 2025    Pastor Mick Whistler

Read Romans 3: 21-31.

1. What is the primary purpose of God's Law according to the sermon,

and why is it compared to a mirror?

2. Why is the Law powerless to save us, and what role does it play in our

relationship with God?

3. What does Paul mean in Romans 3: 21 when he says, “But now...” and

why is this significant?

4. How is righteousness attained, according to Romans 3: 22, and why is

this a radical shift from works-based religion?

5. What are the dangers of a “works righteousness” theology, and how

does it affect our relationship with others and with God?

6. How does Romans 3: 23-24 summarize the human condition and God’s

solution?

7. In what ways do the 12 Steps of AA reflect Biblical principles for

dealing with sin and transformation?

8. How does grace not only forgive us but also empower us to live

differently? What is the role of sanctification in this process?

9. Why is it important that the church be a “hospital for sinners” rather

than a “museum of saints”?

10. How can we as individuals and as a church community better reflect

the balance of truth and grace found in Jesus?

Prayer of the Week:

Gracious and loving God, we thank You for the truth of Your Word that

reminds us of both our need for You and the incredible gift of grace You

have given us through Jesus Christ. Thank You for the mirror of the Law

that reveals our brokenness, and even more for the righteousness You

provide through faith. Help us to walk each day not trying to earn Your

love, but resting in it, empowered by Your Spirit to live lives that reflect

Your character. Teach us to extend grace to others, just as You have

extended it to us. May our church be a place of healing, wholeness and

transformation, a true hospital for sinners saved by grace. We pray all of

this in the strong name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with You and the

Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
