Read Romans 1: 1-17.

1. John Wesley described his heart as being “strangely warmed” when he truly

encountered the gospel. Have you ever had a similar moment of personal

faith awakening? What happened?

2. Why is it important that Paul introduces himself as a servant of Christ and an

apostle “set apart for the gospel”? What does that reveal about his mission?

3. How do you think Paul’s message would have challenged both Jewish and

Gentile believers in Rome? What divisions or tensions might he have been

addressing?

4. Paul emphasizes that the gospel is for “everyone who believes.” How does

this truth challenge your perspective on sharing your faith?

5. Paul says he feels obligated, eager, and unashamed to share the gospel.

Which of these resonates with you most? Which do you find most

challenging?

6. Righteousness is described as a gift received through faith, not earned by

works. Why do you think that’s such a radical and sometimes difficult

concept for people to accept?

7. How does Abraham’s faith in the Old Testament (Genesis 15: 6) reinforce

Paul’s message about righteousness through faith?

8. What are some modern ways Christians can be “beautiful feet” that bring

the good news to others?

9. What are the biggest fears or obstacles that keep people from sharing the

gospel today? How might Paul's words encourage us to overcome them?

10. If you truly embraced the gospel as the “power of God for salvation,” how

would that change the way you live this week?

Prayer for the Week:

Gracious and Loving God, thank You for the gift of Your gospel—the good news

that through faith in Jesus Christ, we are made right with You. Thank You for the

example of Paul, whose life was transformed by Your grace, and for the story of

John Wesley, whose heart was strangely warmed by the power of Your Word.

Warm our hearts too, Lord. Help us to live with boldness and humility—

obligated, eager, and unashamed to share the hope we’ve found in You. May

we be messengers of Your righteousness, shining light in dark places, and walking

with beautiful feet that carry Your truth. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
