Scripture and Questions for Study and Reflection:

1. Think of a few positive memories of days gone by. What do you miss the most? Would you want to go back to that time? What obstacles were there in the midst of your positive memories?

2. Read: Exodus 16: 3; 17: 3; Numbers 11: 4-6; 14: 1-4. What is the common theme? When have their been times you have wanted to go back to what was? Would you now, with the challenges of that time, and the person you are now?

3. How well do you handle change? What is your biggest challenge? Why?

4. There are many stages of grief. These are some: Denial, Anger, Bargaining/”What ifs,” Depression, Acceptance and finally Hope. If you are in the midst of grief, which stage are you currently in? Maybe you are in two places because of numerous griefs.

5. What scriptures help you get through the trial, tribulations, griefs and disappointments of life?

6. Read one each day this week: Philippians 1: 3-6; 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14; Ephesians 6: 10-18; Philippians 4: 8-9; Colossians 4: 2-6;

2 Corinthians 13: 11-14; 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-24.

7. How do you say good-bye to someone, a way of life, or a shift to what God is doing in your life? God is with you and so is your community of faith!

Prayer for the Week:

O Lord, you know the struggles in my heart, mind and soul. Help me grieve, if grief is needed. Help me step forward with encouragement, if encouragement is needed. Help me use the various experiences of my life - both good and not so good - for your honor and glory; and heal me of any brokenness that remains. Allow me to step out in faith, with you. For you are my sustenance each day. Amen.
